Hi there. If I haven't already mentioned it, Old Blue and I are members of the Porterville, CA Rollin' Relics' Car Club. I'm 23, Old Blue's 21, and we're the two youngest members of the club. So far, the club has tried to get some younger people and cars to come by and join, but I'm one of the few young guys to actually join. Membership is pretty cheap, and a lot of fun. We monthly meetings the last Tuesday of every month, and cruise night is the first Friday of every month.
I mention this because we just had a meeting a few days ago. Not much goes on during the meetings except for a some bickering about club rules and regulations. Then we gave some kid some money for a school trip to Europe. At this point, I wish I would have known about the Rollin' Relics earlier. Then, the meeting's over, and we go out to our cars and brag for a while.
We usually meet at a predetermined location, have our meeting, and then cruise to drive in restaurant. That's usually why everyone goes. It's pretty much like a second cruise night. By the end of the month we can't wait to go out and just cruise around town for a while. Most of us do this on a daily basis anyway, but it's different with a club. If you cruise around with your whole club you don't have to worry about things like cops and tickets.
Since we have our monthly cruise night in about a week, I'll take some photos to post. It sucks talking about the Relics' without pictures. Well, I'll get them soon. How come those guys hate having their picture taken...?

Another three months (or 3,000 miles)...
Well, about a week ago, I was treated to the extra pleasure of changing my oil. Actually, I really like to do it. Most people hate it either because the have to fork out a lot of money to pay someone to do it, or just hate getting under their cars. If you try to enjoy it, you probably will.
I had 91,991 miles on the odometer, but the oil was really clean. I cut open the filter, too, to check the engine condition. It was also really clean. Pretty weird for a 21 year old car with almost 100,000 miles. I shouldn't be surprised, though. Old Blue's always had regular oil changes, tune ups, etc.; not to mention almost all of her miles are on the freeway.
In case you're curious, I always use Mobil conventional 5W-30 oil and usually a Mobil or Fram oil filter. Most people change their oil filters every other oil change. That's usually what their manual tells them. Far be it for me to go against the manual, but I figure it couldn't hurt to spend the extra three bucks for a clean filter.
Well, that's pretty much it, though. I guess it's not much of an update, but not much has been going on lately with Old Blue. She's been running great. I just got done reading "Ball Four," if any body's interested. Chapter 1...
